We recently received a message from a student who was curious about which items in the Library’s collection were the most popular. I ran a report on our system and came up with the following results. These are the items that circulated the most from July 2008 through June 2009, excluding items on reserve and Bibles.
- Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love
by Sue Johnson [16 times] - Holding Hands, Holding Hearts: Recovering a Biblical View of Christian Dating
by Richard D. Phillips and Sharon L. Phillips [12 times] - 1 Peter (Word Biblical Commentary)
by J. Ramsey Michaels [10 times] - Philippians (IVP New Testament Commentary)
by Gordon D. Fee [10 times] - Genesis 1-4: A Linguistic, Literary, and Theological Commentary
by C. John Collins [10 times] - Why We’re Not Emergent: By Two Guys Who Should Be
by Kevin DeYoung and Ted Kluck [10 times] - The Gospel According to John: A Theological Commentary
by Herman N. Ridderbos; translated by John Vriend [9 times] - Exodus (Word Biblical Commentary)
by John I. Durham [9 times] - Exodus (NIV Application Commentary)
by Peter Enns [9 times] - Sacred Marriage: What if God Designed Marriage to Make Us Holy More Than to Make Us Happy?
by Gary Thomas [9 times] - Grace-Based Parenting: Set Your Family Free
by Tim Kimmel [9 times] - Infant Baptism in Historical Perspective: Collected Studies
by David F. Wright [9 times] - The Gospel of Luke (New International Commentary on the New Testament)
by Joel B. Green [9 times] - The Gospel According to John (New International Commentary on the New Testament)
by Leon Morris [9 times]
[Note: These circulation statistics are for individual physical items, not bibliographic entities. For example, we have 3 copies of Genesis 1–4 by Collins that circulate, but the 10 circulations listed here came from just one particular copy. Producing this kind of report based on multiple copies being counted together is a convoluted task.]
